10PM special was just a few hours ago, but I wanted to let you all know that the chocolate covered crickets were delicious. I had a bunch, and I wish I could’ve had more. Also, to the nightlife that happens to pass by on the corner of Orlando and Pine, I hope you guys rocked out to the fantastic stylings of Shane.

06.02.2011 - First Thoughts

I spent this past night driving around under the dull glow of the orange street lights. With each light I passed under, I felt a deep seeded breath calling forth from the ground below my tires. Ahead in the distance stood the steel, concrete, and glass structures that seem to connect the ground to the sky. The warm city air ran through my open window and surrounded me, beckoning my vehicle towards the popular, friendly streets of the downtown.

Orlando.

I’ve never lived anywhere like it. The harsh winters of the north where I first experienced America after starting in Canada, as well as my life growing up in Malmö, Sweden are all I have to compare to the drastically different climate of the southern tip of the Untied States. And I’m not one for the whole city living, so when I see tons of people partying and having fun all over the streets, I wonder how a place like this could possible exist outside of our thoughts and dreams.

There are so many new possibilities I have to explore in this magical land. I hope to share these experiences with you as I learn this culture that I am very unfamiliar with. All I can say for now is that I love so very much to drive with my windows all the way down.
